Microsoft fined $1.4 Billion

Not taking any notice of sanctions imposed by the European Commission can work out to be a very expensive no matter who you are, even if the company is Microsoft they don’t get away with anything.

The company stands accused of anti competitive behaviour, something that the company is no stranger to, but this has now cost them a massive $1.4 billion in fines simply because they did not take any or not much notice of a 2004 ruling that they abused their position as the dominant market leader of computer operating systems.

As a result of this Microsoft, will now have to open up some of its technology for the software that they produce, which includes the Windows operating system, this is to make it easier for other companies to compete for the same business as Microsoft does.
