People blamed for banking security breaches

In a survey conducted by the financial services advisory firm Deloitte, it has been determined that people and not machines are responsible for the majority of banking security breaches. This means that both employees and customers are being held responsible.

It would seem that 91 percent of those surveyed are concerned about security risks, and around a third who replied had suffered some sort of breach in security which was the fault of an employee, these breaches were either accidental or intentional.

While some of the top financial organisations were asked about external security breaches and 65 per cent stated that they had experienced some sort of attack from an external source. But customer’s, who have experienced breaches, are blamed for not having adequate anti virus protection or just a lack of awareness. Which has resulted in security breaches?
