Financial institutions welcome Internet protection

Government call for greater protection for Internet users has been welcomed by the UK financial institutions. This follows a report prepared by the House of Lords, science and technology committee, which has shown the threat to the future of Internet business.

The report will recommend that an increase in resources to the police and the criminal justice system, which should make it easier for them to catch and prosecute the criminals or as they have been dubbed (e-Criminals).

Another concern is online fraud, this is not being reported to the police, instead the banks are taking this up and dealing with it, some think that this is either decriminalising this type of fraud or just covering it up, the report would like to see the police being involved in these cases more, in fact they recommend that the police should be the first call.
